What are these four L’s?
Leak Proof Roof Gardens
First and foremost, a roof garden is a ROOF. Like all roofs, the essential requirement of any roof is that it doesn't leak.
Our roof garden systems use a hot air weld reinforced PVC sheet membrane.
This membrane is proven and tested to be root proof and rot proof making the plants' roots in your roof garden not break through and cause leaks, nor will the membrane rot due to moisture or age.
Lightweight Roof Gardens
Our roof garden systems being lightweight, can be installed on more types of structures. We can install these systems on older buildings and homes without adding too much weight or stress to them.
The total weight of the system with stored water of a SPECSERV roof garden engineering system using a 4" thick substrate for grass cover is approximately 163 kgs. / sm.
Compare that to traditional gardens whose usual weight is approximately 900 kgs. / sm.
Low Maintenance Roof Gardens
While other roof garden system require high maintenance, SPECSERV’s roof garden engineering systems are LOW maintenance. They require much less time and effort to maintain compared to other systems.
FSD 20, the storage and drainage element of our system, retains approximately 16 ltrs. of water per square meter; this means less watering of grass and plants.
The substrate or planting medium used by the system does not liquify and harden. It is made of mixed volcanic cinders and other organic materials. Aside from being lightweight, it also stores 39% of the water per square meter.
